The short version
Art-Net Controller collects nothing about you. No accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, no third-party SDKs, no advertising or tracking. The app's whole job is to send lighting control data on your local network, and that is the only thing it puts on the wire.
What the app sends on the network
To control your lights, the app transmits DMX-over-network data — Art-Net and sACN (E1.31) packets — to the nodes and interfaces you address, on the local network you connect it to. This is lighting control traffic, not personal information, and it stays on your network. When RDM is used, the app also exchanges standard RDM management messages with fixtures on that same network. The app makes no other network requests and contacts no servers of ours.
Where your data lives
Your shows, patch, looks, sequences and settings are stored on your iPad. A show can be exported as a .show.zip file that you choose to share or back up — it goes only where you send it. Nothing is uploaded automatically.
Data collection
- Personal data: none collected.
- Usage data and analytics: none collected.
- Crash reports: none collected by us. If you have opted in to sharing diagnostics with Apple in iOS, Apple may share anonymised crash reports with developers under Apple's own privacy policy.
- Identifiers, advertising, tracking: none. The app does not track you across apps or websites.
Permissions the app asks for
The app requests local network access, which iOS requires before any app can talk to devices on your Wi-Fi or wired network — this is what lets it reach your lighting nodes. If you use a MIDI controller such as an APC mini, it uses MIDI access to read pads and light their LEDs. Neither permission is used to collect information about you.
Children
Art-Net Controller is a professional tool that collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
